Meet Cristof Ensslin, Cellist
CElloVibrations is Cristof Ensslin and his Cello.
Cristof Ensslin from Asheville, North Carolina, has undergone 10 years of formal classical Cello education with Hungarian Cello teacher Kalman Dobos in his home town of Esslingen, Germany. He has played in numerous orchestras, chamber music and church ensembles. He has won several prizes in solo youth competitions in his birth country of Germany.
He is currently part of Asheville based rock band, burnthesun. He also performs and has recorded cello tracks with several talent projects produced by Lakehouse Music Studios in Asheville, NC. Among them are singer-songwriter Hope Griffin at her debut EP as well as indie-folk-rock band Wilhelm McKay, who he has joined in spring 2012.
Cristof has turned towards meditative ways of playing his Cello to bring out the sacred vibrations of the Cello.
He accompanies the guided visualization meditations held by his wife, Sophia Ojha Ensslin (Reflection Pond Center for Meditation and Healing), with live Cello vibrations. He has composed, created and recorded the soundtracks to her recent meditation video series.
